The Club enjoyed a great weekend at the very comfortable Pottery Bunkhouse in Laggan, where a large party accompanied Mary on a ticking trip over Carn Liath and Creag Meagaidh in spring snow conditions. We even got a view from the top! Parties climbed Meall n h-Aisre both days and some local Grahams were also visited. The weather was a bit varied, some had it dry others a bit damp. Photos in the Gallery.

Another busy weekend for the Club on the February weekend based at the excellent Blackwater Hostel in Kinlochleven. Down in the glens there was almost a spring like feel when the sun came out, but up on the ridges and summits was a different world of snow and Alpine conditions with some interesting snow especially on the steep descent  of Am Bodach. There were many parties out on Mamore ridge on Saturday  whilst the local Corbetts got some attention on Sunday albeit in colder conditions in a raw NW wind on the tops. Click through for more Pictures.

A thoroughly enjoyable weekend at Cairngorm Lodge with some great winter walking on Saturday, followed by Burns supper celebrated in true club style. More good walking on Sunday.  Pictures.

Not too much snow at Patterdale but cold nevertheless. This picture on Helvellyn is one of several now in the Gallery.

There are also pictures from Kinloch Rannoch.

No witches or warlocks at Kinloch Rannoch this past weekend, but plenty of mist and mellow fruitfullness in the form of rain and brilliant autumn colours.. A good turnout and the spirit of adventure still thriving with a brave attempt at Ben Alder, two parties returning after dark and good use made of cycles for accessing hills or enjoying the quiet roads of Perthshire on Sunday.

A cracking good September weekend in Torridon  with three days of good weather, great views and wonderful walks. Pictures now in the gallery.

Congratulations! to Gill, Rosie, Garrey and Gordon - quadruple Corbett completion on Sgurr Fhurain on a stunningly typical Scottish summer weekend. Well done.

The great winter continues with more amazing winter days on the Ballachulish hills for those at Inchree in February. Photos.

The Newtonmore (Jan 2010) meet also enjoyed good winter conditions in sunshine, though a raw northerly wind made for bitterly cold summits, followed by a very enjoyable and sociable Burns Supper. Some photographs now in the gallery here.

The 2010 New Year meet at Ratagan was very successful with three great days of winter mountaineering followed by partying afterwards. A selection of pictures have been added to the gallery.

Congratulations to David Foster who compleated his 3rd round of the Munros in October 2009 on Sgurr Eilde Mor.

Ullapool - end May long weekend.

Some camped, some stayed in the hostel, others found B&Bs. It turned out fine in the campsite during the evenings and nights with spectacular views driving over on Friday and a classic golden ball sunset on Saturday. The weather during the days was by contrast rather wet. This however did not deter our intrepid compleators Chris E on An Teallach and Dave W on Conival and Ben More Assynt.. Congratulations to you both! Convivial evenings were spent in local hostelries. More Pictures.

April indoor meet

Many thanks to Tim for enlightening us about whales and dolphins off the west coast, to Henry for his entertaining account of climbing the staircase to Mount Kinabalu and finaly to Chris for reminding us of the splendours of Californian redwoods  and the varied peaks of Yosemite.

March weekend

A wintry weekend at Gulabin Lodge with fresh snow to about 400 metres and a stiff northerly gale blowing making for tricky condtitions on the summits.

February weekend

A great weekend at Aite Cruinnichidh, Roybridge. The weather turned out a lot better - less wind and rain - than forecast so lots of hills were climbed - Grey Corries - Creag Pitridh - Ben Chaorain - etc. Aonach Mor looked really alpine under fresh snow on Sunday morning!
