Gordon and Sue on Mamore ridge with Ben Nevis behind

A big turnout for a very enjoyable Burns supper weekend in Melrose, with trips to White Coombe, Broad Law, along part of the southern upland way and the Eildon Hills and some good weather to boot, (right). More pictures here.

 

 

Not much to report from the New Year meet. A good time was had by all present and despite being wild and wet we managed walks all days.

 

The day meet to Luss gave us a brief reminder of what winter should be like.

 

Low level walks were the best that could be achieved on the wet and windy Corran Bunkhouse weekend at the end of November. The upside being the dramatic raging burns, rivers and waterfalls. Pictures.

 

Damp and windy on Saturday, but dry and windy on Sunday with a hint of sun for the participants of the October Glen Clova meet. Party right heading up into Coire Fee before a blow over the summit of Mayar. More pictures in the Gallery.

 

The 2011-12 season got off to a good start based at Borrowdale hostel in the Lakes with three full days of walking. Despite a wet start on Saturday everyone ventured out onto the fells and were rewarded by the rain clearing and extensive views. The best weather came on Monday with some warm sunshine and an excellent round of Grisedale Pike and Grasmoor.

Congratulations to the five club members who made it to the summit of Mont Blanc at the end of June.
