Glasgow Glenmore Club

Day meet Sunday 9th December 2007

Crianlarich

The weather forecast was not enticing, and the Ceilidh on the Friday night was well attended and enthusiastically danced, so the combination may have proved too much for some.

However 6 intrepid characters set out for the ascent of Beinn Dubhcraig.

David Baker (first outing with the club)

The snow lay thick on the ground and the visibility was around 700-800 meters. We set out up the forestry track and admired the snowy scenery on the ascent. However once out of the shelter of the trees the full force of the wind meant that the ascent became challenging. The women descended some what before reaching the summit, whilst the men raced on and then caught up on the descent.

A warm drink in the Rod ‘n Reel rounded off the fading daylight well. Hopefully potential new members will return undaunted by the weather conditions.
