Rock & roll Mountains

Graham Forbes has been a real, bona fide rock musician, having played with the Incredible String Band and a host of others. Rock and Roll Mountains is the tale of the old rocker who gives up the booze and the one night stands, starts his own removal business and then discovers Torridon, regains equilibrium, puts his life into perspective, reconnects with what's real etc.

It's safe to say that Rock and Roll Mountains is the only book you'll find in the 'Music/Climbing' section of your local bookshop. There has never been a book about mountains quite like this. ' As well as being about survival, Rock and Roll Mountains is about discovery...Graham weaves his experiences as a musician with those as a walker and climber.

Graham noticed there were hills nearby and decided to go for a quiet walk. Just as it seemed he would at last settle down to some sort of normal life he met a crazy climber with a taste for the bizarre . . .
It was the beginning of a journey that would transform Graham completely, his story roars along with bawdy tales of marauding bands, mad mountaineers and unforgettable Glasgow street-characters.

Graham’s talk weaved through wild rock tours and terrifying ice climbing to glowing sunsets on some of the most beautiful summits in the world. He reeled off funny anecdotes and one-liners at an electrifying pace. Overall it was very very funny.

It appealed to all of us who have looked in a mirror and wondered where it all went wrong…

Thanks Graham.
