Ochils – 13th November 2005
The weather was perfect for a short winter day trip to the delightful
hill foot village of Dollar and to the Ochils behind the castle.
Our cars filled the entire car park at the eastern end of the
village, not easily found by some.
With the option of a low level walk to Glen Devon or a circuit of the
little summits of Kings Seat and White Wisp, the majority chose the
latter.
25 figures all clad for winter soon pulled off layers in the glorious
sunshine although frost lay on the ground all day.
The views from the tops were glorious, from Berwick Law to the
Lawyers range.
The day was hugely sociable with a very leisurely pace set and plenty
of time to catch up with any news.
The only exceptions to the route were Harrold and Connie Thomson who
set out on a more intrepid route, which took in Seamab Hill and
Auchlinsky Hill then back via Glenquey reservoir.
We met up for afternoon tea and stronger refreshment at the convivial
Castle Campbell Hotel.
Those walking were
Dave Reynolds, Victoria
Culshaw, Ian Thompson (potential new member), Liz Maitland, Isobel
Freeman, Craig Stevenson, Alice Harrison, David Harrison, Elizabeth
Culshaw, Chris Everett, Henry Perfect, Harrold Thomson, Connie Thomson,
Phyllis Smith, Caroline Thompson, Alan Stevens, Kate McKean, Steve Owen,
