The Cottage

View from the Cottage

Strawberry Cottage is based in the remote and beautiful Glen Affric giving access to several magnificent Munros and Corbetts and has been refurbished into one of the best equipped huts in the country over recent years. It is in a setting guaranteed to take your breath away and offers the chance to get away from it all and do some serious exploration.

Having a run of good settled weather in the days prior to the outing, nine Club members had been looking forward with anticipation to walking over this Glesga fair weekend. As often is the case though the weather broke on our arrival, soaking the waterproofs but failing to dampen our spirits. With cloud covering the tops on both days, it provided all parties with a good exercise in navigation.

Saturday 16th----Henry P, Hugh B, Dave C and Chris H, climbed An Socach, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and the Corbett Sgurr Gaorsaic.

David W, Malcolm K, Alan and Kate S climbed An Socach, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan, Mullach
na Dheiragain.

Tim M, having walked in to the cottage from Glen Shiel elected for an easy low level walk around the loch.

Sunday 17th------Henry P, Malcolm K, and David W climbed Mam Sodhail, Carn Eige and Beinn Fhonnlaidh
Tim M, Hugh B and Chris H completed the round of two Corbetts, Carn a Choire Ghairbh and
Aonach Shasuinn

All in all an enjoyable weekend was had by all in comfortable and well equipped accommodation, a pity about the weather, and the midges!!
