Glasgow Glenmore Club

He said "some will climb Corbetts but Alistair and I will walk up a Munro, if you would like to join us please let me know, a very small non taxing hill" So I called… And the car came to pick me up, Sunday morning, 7 o’clock on the bridge.
M unro it will be then on the 10th of April 2005
"Y ou should enjoy this walk in the Glen Lyon area, good company and good hills…"

F or the weather was to be fair,
I Would for sure enjoy the view
R ight over the hills and the loch below
S now under feet and strong wind in the air, on top of the hill we all held hands
T he way up was breezy and the way down very easy with strong wind in our backs

O n reaching the top, "you must touch the stone at the top of the cairn",
U nder your feet the world below just looks so small, the air is pure and the view perfect, as good as a postcard.
T ISO supplied the rented boots, hard on my feet, hard on the ground
D own I slipped a few times and tripped on the heather
O n the snow up at the top and the grass down below walking was hard but
O nly a few times I had to rise up again
R ight away I knew I had found the right hills for me, Munros it would be

M unro I climbed for the first time in years, made it to the top and enjoyed the feeling
E veryone met in the pub afterwards, sharing experiences around the table
E veryone and me.. the new comer.
"T he next indoor meet will be at the Wellington church" he said " if you would like to join, just come"

On the day we meet at the Bridge of Balgie, there for the first time I met Dave and Janet, Liz and Henry, Bill and Alastair and others… but see below what they all decided to do:

Party Nr1: Dave Reynolds, Janet Gaywood, Dave Foster, Catarin Morrisson, Henry Perfect, Brian McDaid, and Liz Archer enjoyed Corbetts on the following walk: Bridge of Balgie, Meall a’Mhuic, Beinn Dearg, Carn Gorm and back to Bridge of Balgie,

Party Nr 2: Chris Huxham and Dave went from the Bridge of Balgie to enjoy the Corbett Cam Chreag

Party Nr 3: Alastair Maclean, Bill McIntyre and myself walked up Meall Buidhe one of the local Munros.

They all had a very nice day and made it back to the pub afterwards.

I will be back I said… "only 283 to go…"
