Glasgow Glenmore Club

Scottish Country Dancing – Thursday 25th November 2004

Three sets-worth of Glenmorons & friends lined up to be coached through some new dances by Harrold & Connie in preparation for the Christmas ceilidh.

Harrold donned some unusual headgear which had been provided by techno-wizard Bill McIntyre to enable all instruction to be heard loud and clear. It was - though we still managed to get our rights confused with our lefts, our castings-off less than elegant, our clappings out of sync. etc.

One or two experts among the company ensured an element of professionalism and an Italian visitor exemplified gracefulness as well as proving herself a competent route-finder among the reels.

By the end of the evening, a basic level of competency was achieved in the following dances:

The White Cockade

Good-hearted Glasgow

The Happy Meeting……………………… it was!

Once again thanks to Harrold and Connie for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for this intricate but merriment-inducing art.
