Ceilidh

Friday 12th December 2003

Dave Webster repeated the booking for the "Toby Jug" bar, at Jordanhill College, after the success of last year’s event. The crowds were out in force and the Reel Thing was, as always, on hand to "pump up the volume".

Some fiendishly difficult dances were walked through before being stomped through for real. Those with authentic dancing pumps must flinch when some of the less rhythmic and less sure footed members loom before them in the Dashing White Sergeant or one of those fiendish progressive dances.

The buffet was improved on this year so hopefully everyone got what they wanted and left sated, in every sense of the word.

It’s difficult to balance the dancing and social commitments at the Ceilidh. Often you are left feeling you neither danced enough nor talked enough. I suspect this is an irreconcilable problem. Personally I can’t talk and dance. One activity requires all my concentration

This is proving to be a popular and successful venue.
