on
19. July 2003 in the company of more than 20 fellow enthusiasts. I have
to single out one,
.
who was discovered in the pretty cold and wet conditions of the day,
sheltering between rocks on the penultimate summit. Despite the hot
shades of the red and yellow shelter he was almost invisible!
Three different routes converged and, after proper procrastination
about which hump was the highest, champagne and sparkly flowed freely,
was much appreciated and led smoothely into copeous kissing, a fashion
show and appreciative admiration of the not mean view.
Back on the path and at the carpark the midges were BAD, but the
views were good!!!
Back at the ranch some went for a pub meal. Liz had a surprise visit
from her husband and the rest of us prepared our tea at the well kent
Cannich Hostel. Some had soup at the hostel!!! for those who
might feel addressed! The spotlight, however, was on Arthur, who
practised creating a chocolate mousse destined for Kamchatka. He was
ably and hilariously directed and assisted by Gill and the final product
was tested by Sue (photographic evidence available to anyone who can
teach me how to do the scanning!).
Good meet, good meals, good company, good attendance, good venue and
reasonably good weather.
